Gerstner Wood Tool Box (1941)
(Last Updated: 01/11/2024)

One of the great treasures of a machinist is his/her tool box. The Gerstner company made one of the finest machinist tools boxes of the 1900's. My Grandfather bought this Gerstner Wood Tool Box in the 1940's some time. I found a "Machinist Handbook", with a copyright on 1941 in the middle drawer of the tool box. The tool box was in pretty bad shape when I got it so I fixed all broken joints (mostly in the drawers) and refinished. I painted all the hardware black and mounted them with Brass screws. I also built a bottom drawers for just catch-all of miscellaneous tools. This is now my everyday tool box.
